--- Perhaps most don't have any problems with it, so there are less people who frequent this particular forum?Does anyone actually kow how to use this product?
Yes, I see that there are quite a few unanswered posts here, which is a bit of a shame. I guess patience really is a virtue.
Unfortunately I can't pitch in as I don't personally use Webstyle.
I hope someone will find the time and inclination to have a look at the posts here.
I wish I would have found this list before I purchased the product.
I just published my site and it was beautiful. I published it here
http://www.artgally.com/cswenterprises
When I turned around and published it to the domain name
http://www.cswenterprises.com
It lost a bunch of stuff. I don't know what happened and can't seem to get any help with this.
well, right up until i reinstalled on my new system, i never had a problem with webstyle. check out my published pages at www.glacierchain.com and www.stickytat.com. both were made with webstyle and was done fairly effortlessly. it's a great program and i've had relatively fast customer support responses until recently. i'm not sure if they've gone through a change of ownership or what.
I use the program and at first had lots of trouble with it, my fault not the program. More often than not it was by scanning the source code that I realised the path was referring to my computer rather than what had been uploaded to my server/website. A lot of your links do not work and a quick check on your source code does not seem to have any reference to these links. I can only suggest you check both your source codes. To me and I am no expert they appear to be quite different and incomplete. I do not know if this info will help it is the best I can do. It is a pity that someone more expert cannot help you. I used Webstyle to compose my own website along with one or two other programs . I supply my url not out of pride I know its pretty mediocore but mine own ha ha.
http://www.warden.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk I also have a domain address http://www.gm0ewj.co.uk and that works fine.

As an example, the http://www.cswenterprises.com index page has <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"href="cssstyle.css"> on the 5th or 6th line - so it's looking for http://www.cswenterprises.com/cssstyle.css - which just doesn't exist. Upload all of your files to that folder and I'm sure you'll be OK.
The version at http://www.artgally.com/cswenterprises calls for styles.css, which does exist: you can see it at http://www.artgally.com/cswenterprises/styles.css . I don't know how significant it is (does Webstyle pick the filenames or have you made them up?) that these two names are different - if you've not fiddled with filenames just upload everything.

While I appreciate everyone who did respond, no one has helped with the issue I am having....
As for the last response about links or files missing, he was apparentl;y reading someone elses post...
I just want to add a hyperlink to a network folder....
I open the nav menu, create a pull down and click in :URL beside this
and type in the network share \\servername\sharename
however when I go back to IE and open it and try the hyperlink, I get an error. Seems like it only works if you put in a real hyperlink such as http://www.yahoo.com versus \\servername\share... It seems it's always looking for an actual file.... I want a network share to open once the button is clicked... Can this be done ??
Thanks,
JJ
It's sound like you are confusing an Intranet with a home network. In a home network there are no servers, it's just a connection. A connection by using a router or some other device.
With home networking you really can't use browsers to do a lot of stuff like you want unless one of your computers is a server. Yeah, you can use browsers, but it won't act like a hosted solution on the Internet unless you have a server.
If one of your computers is a server, then it's a matter of establishing what the IP to your Intranet will be for the other computers connected to contact.
Like 192.123.4.5. There is software for building an Intranet (after you make one computer a server.) Along with mapping out ports and stuff.
Here's an Windows 2000 server site you can read about that kind of thing, naming resolution and all that (NetBios resolution in Intranet is called domain name for Internet)http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...re/iinmres.htm
After your Intranet if fixed up and configured, then you can do webpages just like you would on an Internet Webpage, no difference other than you are doing everything locally. You can even contact the Internet or not. Up to you, because you will be the server guy in charge.
If this is not what you were trying to do, please explain further.

I know the difference between a home network and a corporate network.
I've been in the IT field for 12 years as an administrator.
The problem I am having is this:
I have a shared folder on my network that houses company forms...
I want a link in my pull down nav bar that will open the main folder for my forms.... som that the user can pick and open whichever form they are looking for....
That's it...
Can this be done? I've gone in to the URL field within the menu tab in Xara
and added \\serverIP\networkshare and it doesn't work...Is there another way to accomplish this ?
Thank you,
JJ
Ahhh! Now I got ya. I'm an engineer we design around things first before directly addressing the issue.
Now that I know you are an IT Admin type I should put the answer in an outline form. I know how you IT types like structure!!
Joking. heh
Example:
1. My networked computer is named pussycat
2. I wanted to save forms on drive F named Windowsdata
3. And I want to save that in a specific folder
I would use this for the URL in Xara Webstyle of the Navbar
\\pussycat\Windowsdata (f)\office Forms
(See Figure 7 below for where to place \\pussycat\Windowsdata (f)\office Forms)
Oh and it works, I just did it.
