Marching Ants

I have had this problem in PhotoPaint and I found out how to turn off that function, but I get like marching ants around my objects which are above the background and find it annoying. It is not a selection. Can this be turned off and how?

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are talking about, but if you go to "View" and turn off "Show box around objects" it may help.
View" "Show Marqui" is the "Selection ants"

That would be my guess, too. I have this off all the time, too. It's distracting and I find it slows down PI. But maybe it's just me and my crappy pc...

Thanks, I kept looking for that under the selection manager even though I knew it wasn't a selection. This is the main reason I haven't been using this app more.
PhotoPaint does the same thing and recently discovered how to turn the marching ants off too.

Even though I have had success in using an app, it is often been because I just did the tutorials and didn't read the book page by page.
