Hi all.. I just bought 3D-xara ver 5... Looks like super program... However I can't seem to get .gif file to animate on my web browser...
YES, I export using "EXPORT Animation".
I have even checked the file using a different graphics program... and it shows the .gif has multiple images.. and I can hit a play button in my other graphics program and see the .gif annimate... but when I drag file to my browser... No Motion... Anyone with some suggestions... My system is running Win XP and browser is IE 5.5 or 6.0. Thanks in advance..

To play animation in Internet Explorer 6.0, you will need to turn the animation function on. Open IE 6.0 if that is version. Click on: Tools / Internet Options / then the Advanced tab. Scroll down to find Multimedia. Put A check mark it says Play animations in web pages. Click OK. If you have A browser window open and showing an animation but it's not doing anything, click on the Refresh button. See attached screen shot. I'm using Win 98se and IE 6.0.

I haven't done this very often. Here is the screen shot, I hope.

    Simko stated:
quote:
but when I drag file to my browser... No Motion...

Could you explain what you mean by "dragging" a file to your browser? You can't simply drag & drop files into a browser to view them. You have to upload them to a remote server first and then type in the URL (address) of that file's location to view it online.

The attached screen shot shows IE 6.0 viewing an animated .gif that has not been uploaded to A server. The screen shot does not show the animation but the address bar shows that it is on my hard drive.

Yes, you can open an animated graphic in IE using the "Open with" option from the context menu and the animation will play. But that's not what the person was asking about, was it? He said but when I drag file to my browser... No Motion... . I certainly don't know everything that is possible which can be done with either graphics or IE, but I have never heard of anyone being able to "drag" a file of any kind into it and have it displayed. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I just tried it, dragged an animated gif into a browser window, and the browser presented the animation perfectly. It also works in IE6.

    Mike,

http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/yep.gif Just tried dragging an animated .gif image to an IE link on my Quick Launch toolbar and it did indeed open an IE window with the graphic displayed with full animation!

Thanks... this old dog learned yet another new trick. http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/BigThumbUp.gif
