    Question Xara Xtreme quick question

I realize that this is probably going to be considered "off-topic", but since there is a sticky post here for the announcement of Xara Xtreme, I am hoping it will be allowed.

Quick Question: Is Xara Xtreme the next generation of Xara 1? or Is Xara Xtreme a totally separate program and not meant to replace Xara 1?

    Thanks!

So, if I understand you right, Bill, if I were to "upgrade" to Xara Xtreme, I could uninstall my current version of Xara 1 and not lose anything?

I have both XaraX¹ and Xara Xtreme installed. If you use colour separations for printing and a few other printer related features, you will need to keep XaraX¹. Also support for PanTone Colours has been removed from Xtreme. Xtreme has some added export formats and has the ability to accept additional formats as plug-ins become available. From what I've read here in the forums and some of the press releases about Xara going Open Source, Xtreme is the direction the program is going in the future. This will make third party extensions to the program possible.
