    Default emailing screen saver

My question is simple I guess, with xara screensaver 3D every screen saver I send out via email arrives to friends emails with a warning that is has infectioous files and the attachment screen saver is removed by their anti virus. Does anyone know what the problem is and can it be corrected. The 3D screen saver is limited with tools.

    Hi Neuro,

Most email servers will not allow executable code (programs and screen savers) to pass through because so many viruses have been disquised as that type of code.

Use a compression program like WinZip to zip up the screen saver before sending it as an email attachment. Your friends will have to unzip the file before they can use the screen saver.

Some ISP antivirus scanners will detect ".scr", ".exe", etc., files inside of a compressed (zip/rar) file and still reject them. IF that happens what often works is to change the extension of the screensaver file from ".scr" to ".txt" before sending it, whether compressed (zipped) or not. Simply add a note in the body of your e-mail for the recipient to rename the file (extension) back to ".scr" after extracting (unzipping) it and it should be good to go.
