I've been playing with photo manipulation again and thought I would share this one with you.
The background is a photo of Stonehenge - the unicorns are a scan of a pewter ornament.

I like it Christine.
One comment and it is a very nit picky one (kind of a high school art teacher type observation). You have three very powerful things happening in the composition and the eye does not know where to focus. The shooting star and the light show taking place behind the monoliths are all of equal importance. As the dueling unicorns are the main focus of the image the other two things out to either lead into the unicorns or be toned down to be second reads.
That make any sense or does it just sound like Mrs. Robert (my high school art teacher who pronounced her name as the French would, Ro-bair) prattling on?

Thanks for the comments Gary, I added the shooting star because the top corner looked so empty - but empty is not always a bad thing.
I started out just to add the unicorns to the picture of Stonehenge, when I decided it needed to be darker I dragged in the picture with the abstract on it - I hadn't expected to get the light display the way it shows - but thought the colours on the stone monoliths gave it a more eerie feel.

I wouldn't have a clue how to do photo manipulations in Xara. Maybe this could be the subject of a toot.
Greetings from the East coast.
Perhaps my old guest tutorial at the XaraXone.Com will encourage you to create your own montage in Xara. It is fun and the approaches used can be very useful in your toolbox.
