Here's my (theoretical) question; I have 3 shapes exactly the same and all aligned centrally on the canvas, how can I select one that is below the topmost? Is there a window that I haven't yet found that lists the order of the shapes?

down the Alt key, the pointer icon will turn to an upside-down arrow, and begin clicking. Each successive click picks the next object directly below the previous until the bottom-most object, then goes back to the top-most object.

In case you or any other 'newbie' are interested, here is the keyboard shortcuts. Originally put together by Johnathan Payne (where the heck did he go anyway??) and reformatted and done in such a way that it prints out perfectly without having to change anything. To see the layout as it will look when printed out set your Zoom level to 50%. If you do print it out make sure you choose "landscape" instead of "portrait" for your page print out orientation.
