    Hi John,

That sounds like a good idea...I definitely like WHAT X3d6 can do. In this case, though, I am actually working on a montage with several hundred characters which tends to slow down even Xara X1. I think that for my titles and main text pieces, I can experiment with using it to "turn" my hebrew charactes into English character. We will see.

    Thanks,

    milt

Guess. what...I found something that will reverse my text. After I export the word file to HTML, as John had suggested, and pasted it into Xara (LTR), I can past this text into Text Reversing Tool

    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.p...erse_text.html

and it provides with text that is RTL that can then be copied back into Xara.

Thanks again to Robin and John.

I forgot EasyHeb was only in Hebrew.
All you do is paste (Paste is the 2nd command from the bottom when you right click)your Hebrew text from Wordpad into the big white area. Then, click the green & yellow circle -it will send the circle down near your clock. Click the circle there, the text will be reversed & you can paste it in to Xara.Lots of Hebrew fonts don't show up in the xara menu - but try to find "aharoni" - that always does.

    John,

If you just need the odd character and you run Windows XP or 2000, why don't you use the built in font editor to make it?

Well I'm back from a long trip.... to Eilat http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Anyway, XaraX does not support unicode, and working with Hebrew text, as far as I found it, is too hard for me to deal with, therefore I create only graphics, and add text with Freehand.

Nevertheless, the Middle Eastern font should be a special "Mirrored" font, called the X_Font or the MFX_Font, which is a mirrored version of the text.

When you type Hebrew you get all your words mirrored, so you must mirror the line after you type. These fonts are mostly free to use.

I'm sorry but I haven't found the exact link to that site, please refer to this search group:
    http://www2.eitan.ac.il/fonts/links.asp

If you need the fonts you can PM me, or drop me a mail Availor@Msn.com (I rarely check it though)

    I found the link:
    http://designstuff.topcities.com/stuff/x-fonts.htm#top

You can download the special fonts from there.
Don't remember to convert the text to path when exporting.

    hey Availor,

You should really try the html method I showed earlier in this thread. It would make your job so much eaiser, and keep the text in Xara...

John, your idea doesn't seem to work for me,

    I get ???? signes.
Besides, the mirror letters is very easy, you type regular as if you typed in Word. Type the two first letters, mirror, then continues typing as you would in Word. That's how most people I saw coped with the problem.

Try copying this text and pasting into Xara, see what you get: משפט ×–×” ×*כתב בעברית

Ive attached a printscreen file to show you how it should look like, since I presume you dont read Hebrew http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
