In Photoshop it's simply a matter of clicking one button to format text so that it appears in a horizontal format.

I've been wrestling for over two hours now and still have not found out if this is even possible with Xara-X.

Does anyone know if it's capable of placing text horizontally instead of vertically or on a curved path?

I want the text to appear something like this:

    H
    O
    R
    I
    Z
    O
    N
    T
    A
    L
    L
    Y

Can Xara-X do this and if so HOW???

    Thanks!

With the text tool click and drag to right just far enough for one letter (see the red line in the illustration). This sets the width of the text line so each consecutive letter will appear on a separate line.

Mickie's suggestion, plus you may want to turn on center justification.

Create text line and write some text.
Press Alt+Shift and drag line control point there where you want. Enjoy. 8-)

Could never figure how to do this before.

But Fedor's Alt-Shift approach leavs me in the dark; the baseline rotates but not the letters?

    carygee:

Im published that TIP for realize full XaraX functionality with textline.

And im so sorry, im wrong - no need Alt. 8-(
Only Shift. Or Control - for move by ortogonal axies.

If you want horizontal text - use Mickies TIP.

Default is horizontal. You mean VERTICAL text.

Thanks everyone! And yes, Sean, you are correct. I *did* mean vertically...

    Thanks again for the help!
