    Hello everyone,
    I am looking for feedback on a website that I have created all about Perth, Scotland where I live. It has a brief history, pub guide, news, around the town tourist guide with photographs, what's on and more.
    It is my first attempts at a site and I have been working on it for around four months. It has undergone countless revamps as my knowledge and skills progressed and I am getting to the stage where I am quite pleased and proud of it. Am I right or is it not very good.
    What could I do or add to enhance it.
    All feedback is welcome, good or bad.

    Edit to actually tell you the URL.
    Sorry about that!
    For non-clairvoyants the URL is (drum roll):
    http://members.madasafish.com/~joebananas/index.htm

    Dear Joe,
    It looks good and I like the complete information, for example the chart of the average temperatures during the year. The site is easy to navigate, nothing takes forever to load (the content isn't overshadowed by fancy web tricks), it's clear right away what's in there.

    Sometimes people get so hung up with flash stuff or music that it makes it hard to usethe site and that's the whole point.

    very well done,

    Sharon P.

    Thanks for taking the time to review my site and for your kind words on it.
    I agree with you about Flash, most of the time people are using it to show what they can do with it whilst adding little to the experience of visiting the site.

    Hi Joe,

    As a first attempt, I think you've done a great job, kudos!

    Be careful with extra spaces in your link tags - the reason you get those little red lines between buttons - get rid of the space between your <a href> tag and the beginning of your image tag.

    ie:

    Your code :
    <A HREF ="http://members.madasafish.com/~joebananas/index.htm"
    onMouseover = "ChangeTheImage('Image01')"
    onMouseout = "ChangeItBackAgain('Image01')"
    >

    <IMG SRC="butt01a.gif" ...

    Should be :
    <A HREF ="http://members.madasafish.com/~joebananas/index.htm"
    onMouseover = "ChangeTheImage('Image01')"
    onMouseout = "ChangeItBackAgain('Image01')"
    ><IMG SRC="butt01a.gif" ...

    You might consider changing the font size or colour for your personal blurb at the bottom - also all extraneous links should be a size smaller than regular text. This allows the visitor to know that this is extra stuff and doesn't really pertain to the Perth info.

    Other than that, great site - Perth looks like a lovely city; Scotland is on my list of "Places to See Before I Die" and Perth looks like a definate must-see!

    Thanks for the feedback Jen, I was wondering what caused those little red marks between the buttons, now I know I will go and edit the pages.

    NB I am getting an broadband unmetered connection installed on 4 July, until then I have to pop in and out of forums as quick as possible as I have to worry about the phone bill mounting up [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif[/img]

    Just a quick note to say that my site has just had a total redesign as of Sat 23 June, it should now be faster to load, better design and layout, some pages have been totally removed and some rearranged.

    Regards,
    Joe
