And I speak about my own experience of Poser 5. The face morphing part is extremely attractive, but installing so much Mo on a PC for so few and with a lot of other problems with Windows afterwards, despite the service packs...! I was not convinced and I didn't re-install Poser 5 on my new PC.

Yes, I posted this article at PSG, not only because of the article, but also because of my personal experience.
A good friend of mine has it installed on his computer and even after service release 2, he still complains that it's unstable and that the interface is slow and really complicated. I was able to play with it one afternoon and was heavily disappointed.
This is unacceptable in a time like this when companies make rock solid stable 3D products like Cinema 4D.
The ideas behind Poser 5 are great, the execution is however absolutely second grade.
Sorry, but that's the way I look at it.
I have to admit that the allure of sculpting faces in Poser 5 is great, and that's what I've confined myself to do until lately.
•Speed is a definite problem.
•Tweaking expressions too much leads to intersecting polygons.
•I have only 128MB of RAM on one of my machines, and Poser will not render with raytracing with that amount.
Here's to Poser 6.

and the updated GaryWorld Gallery is pretty okay, too.
I have been saving up for P5, but this, and what I have read at the Renderosity forums looks like P5 is more trouble than it is worth.
DAZ, the makers of the models Victoria, Mike, and Stephanie are working on their own application - if it is anything like their models... Poser will be in trouble.
