Hi, im new...I have html experience...but none in graphics. Im trying to design a grapefruit in xara3d..

The problem is, Ive purchased webster to design the grapefruit..and am then trying to have it imported into xara3d..but it will only import in the text form..which is a problem because I need to put text on the actual grapefruit...and on both sides at that...is there a way to import it as a button shape or something, so i can still put my text on it?

    Hello PG

Xara 3D can only import solid vector objects. The color and shape are added in Xara 3D.

Basically you need to export a circle or ellipse (depending on the shape of your grapefruit) as a WMF (Windows MetaFile).

Then you can open this shape in Xara 3D and add color and shape.

    Hope this helps

and follow it with a <return>, then import the grapefruit. They will appear as two lines. Then amend the line separation so that both lines converge. You will also need to select the text and the grapefruit objects separately and amend their sizes so that the text fits into the fruit.

If you would like to play with the x3d file I'll post it for you.

some text in angle brackets (Return) vanished! It should say ..and follow it with a carriage return..

And I should have left the transparent option off when exporting the animated gif. Fingers faster than braincells, I suppose http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

But no cigar. I greatly appriciate your shared knowlege..but im still having a problem..I did as you said with the text, then carriage return, then import, then use the "a b" controls to amend the line, (thats how you ment for me to do it right?) making the two object converge...but I cant change seperate colors now...whatever color the graphic is, so is the text and visa versa..making my text invisible when on top of the grapefruit......help?

Your almost there. What you've done is correct so far. To change the colour of the text, Use the Cursor (the 'I' beam icon) to select the text using the shift and arrow keys. You can now alter the colour, extrusion and bevel to your hearts content.
It is often easier to do this prior to adjusting the base line shift (which is only available in the text window)
