Mike you were doing add shapes with "brushes"
with "constant" brush stroke. I was getting the error with all the other stroke shapes.

Change the outline of an object to "normal line" and brush stroke to "blip". Make it the top most object and do add shapes.

(Funny - brushes with special brush strokes works - go figure...)

Anyways, I'm going to let it go now... and e-mail Xara.

Risto - I get the same sad result you get. I'm running xarax 1.0b on a PIII-866 w/ windowsME. I haven't experienced any other stability problems except when attempting complex manipulations of contours that have hundreds of steps - no suprise that Xara has trouble with those. Combining stroked lines should of course be straight forward. At the very least Xara should open an error window noting that the stroked lines have to be converted to shapes first. (Like the error message that opens when you try to apply a contour to a beveled object).

Regards, Ross

Hello

Now that I have worked out what was needed, I can confirm the problem.

I wonder in future that when there is such a problem that a Xar file containing the problem be posted. That way we can know for sure what we are talking about. Also it gives Xara a easy clue as to where to begin.

Hi folks,

Same problem here but with a different error number:

0x001EFE1F

Risto's error number was: 0x001EFDAF

I'm using v1.0aa.

I also tried different strokes to see if the error number would be different, but i got the same number for 3 different styles.

Win98 / ATI Rage Fury 128 w/32meg / PIII 650 / 256 Ram

Just today, I can't export any XAR file as a TIF or I get the dreaded Serious error from Xara-access violation exception at offset 0X00C7F0. I'm not sure if I was able to do it before with version 1.0aa or not. I know it wasn't a problem with the previous version. I hate to re-install because then I have to re-do all of my settings...again

Beautiful.......

If only my CD would come, maybe it would take care of the problem

First and only rule about PC's:

If something bizarre happens and you do not grasp what it might well be: BLAME WINDOWS!!!!!

Forgive me if I'm telling something you already know, but, when you install, it is best to CTRL+ALT+DELETE everything except exploder and systray.
The grandmother of all installation problems is a virusscanner.
