    Its actually a candle, I should perhaps add a wic to the candle... and I suppose the red can get confused with blood!

    future wizard,

    you should have posted what your scene is going to present ;-} At first I thought it's something abstract, then I thought a super-retro design for a car, and when I read candle - well, I tried to figure it out. I tweaked the image in my pic publishing app to see the candle - but hell, there was no candle stick.

    After continuing with the brightness, contrast etc tweaks I finally discovered that it's a candle in a fist. OK, a fist like from an alien movie. Not a human fist.

    Well, I think my perception is misleading me too often these days ;-}

    The candle itself is great. But the arm and the fist could be more straightforward IMHO - not like a 3D zebra analysis for surfaces ;-}

    I love all the swirling textures around the hand.

    The Xara image is pretty awesome as well.

    yah I know, I wanted to convert the drawing into xara, but I didnt want to take away from it, so I tried to do like kinda highlight thing, Ill can prolly make it more obvious, I just have to try to be a bit more creative...!

    I think there needs to be a wick for the candle and the fire needs to be a little more distinct but other than that I think it's really good!!
