Following Bill and Eric's excellent portraits I thought I'd have a go myself. (Minimum hair though!). Lots of shapes and feathering.

This portrait looks realy great! What about to add some white-profiled-and-feathered-and-transparented line on the edges of the blouse.. it would look more 3dimensional.

    I mean something like this

..I think you've expressed yourself very well. Remember, we can learn techniques, etc.from others,
yet we seek our own expression with the media we
choose to use. This is great! Not seeing the subject matter, I won't endevour to 'critique'. It's yours!..and you know as well as I, ones ownself will do the 'critiques'. You go over it again and you 're-define' it...Nice.

    Hi Egg,

I love your drawing! Excellent detail in the skin tones.

I like your style. It looks watercolour-ish. Were you into watercolours?

... are a very versitile artist, Egg! You always suprise us with something new.

I find your treatment of the skin (especially in the face) very interesting and different from what I have seen posteed - it has a great painterly feel to it.

    You have some great ideas!

I realised that I had been using Xara a great deal lately for creating web graphics or just experimenting with various tools and techniques and hadn't produced any drawings lately. The threads covering portraits inspired me to try my hand. Dmagician's comments are very true. I spent 90% of my time concentrating on the skin textures and the clothing took a back seat. I've continued to work on the image and I'm a bit happier with the hair now.
    Thanks All
