When designing a site, I keep all sorts of stuff on the pasteboard area....some that is never going to be on a page, i.e. notes to myself, color swatches, the cat's favorite canned food. It would be so nice if the pasteboard could be viewed from any page. This has the added advantage of being a quick way to get items from one page to another, also.
