I've mentioned the Paper iPad app by Fifty Three a few times before, but this app has had an interesting update.

The app has always been about creativity and unlike Xara software has been about organic working - similar to using real media - rather than the very precise vector working of Xara.

They've now gone a step further and added some features to allow regular shapes to be drawn organically, but imperfections to be corrected. I think Xara now has such a feature and Flash has had this forever. In Flash and Xara I think it's useless, but in Paper it's very helpful.

One nice feature is how Paper now handles drawing arrows and straight lines. Rough lines can be straightened by the software and after a line is drawn the user is prompted to place an arrow-head.

I'm really impressed. Just a heads-up for how things are moving forward in the world of tablets.
