Can't open a WD6 file with WD7 Premium

I've already deleted my working version of WD6 after buying and installing WD7 Premium. Now, I need to modify the web site for a local Judge/Mediator that I designed with WD 6 and every time I try to open it I get an "Access Violation" error dialog box pop up. (See attachment) I've rebooted my system and cleared out many programs to reduce the overhead and I still get the same error.

I am also getting frustrated trying to add a shadow to text in WD7 Premium. I get an error 9 times out of 10 when I try to perform that function.

Is WD7 just a bit buggy or what? I've been a huge advocate for Xara's products but WD7 Premium makes me wonder...
