It's quiet, but maybe not too quiet. My impression from the article (link) I posted about two months back was that it was agreed by Charles Moir and Carl Worth, principal developer of Cairo, that a parallel branch of Xara LX could be created with Cairo instead of CDraw. I just followed the link from the article to Carl Worth's Git repository and nothing since February 20th, the time of the original post, unless I'm missing something in what I'm seeing here (beyond the use of the words "lame attempt"): http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=use...ralx;a=summary
Now this is apparently only the public Git repository for Carl Worth and Worth said he wouldn't have any time to work on this himself. Also Charles Moir offered to host the code on Xara's servers, don't know if that happened.
The one of the conclusions in the article was that Xara was concerned about possible ports of any developed code to Windows. Whether that's becoming an overriding concern to Magix and Xara is another question.
Have not noticed anything else posted on-line on this in the last two months. Lack of developer interest may still be a factor.
I am, however holding my breath and would really like to see more work on this. Adobe can keep it's CS's, bigger more expensive, clunky interfaces and slower. I am still enjoying this a lot!
Anyone hearing newer news?
