My favorite thing to do is combine 3D with 2D (Xara).
So I recently purchased Vector Style 2, a plug in for Carrara that converts your 3D models to vector shapes.
In case there are other folks here that like to do the same, I thought I would post up my first quick test with the product.
I'm pretty happy with it. IMHO, I think it may be better than Swift 3D.
Vector Style 2 = 99.00, works with Carrara.
Swift 3D = 250.00, stand alone program.
The model was done in Hexagon. Rendered in Carrara. The vector re-coloring was done in Xara.
The model and rendering themselves are nothing to brag about...it was just a quick test of VS2. (The blades aren't correct..but oh well.)
Chose a the ice skates since we are in the midst of the Winter Olympics.
First pic = the actual Carrara render.
Second pic = the image after being converted to vector w/ added color fills in Xara.
Thanks for letting me share.
