I've just bought a Freecom DVB-T USB stick - you can get digital tv and radio on a laptop or pc. It is really clever for a dongle only 3 x 7 x 1.5cm.

It works well although the supplied aerial is only so-so; sticking it on a radiator with its magnetic base helps a bit. A roof aerial or digital-ready internal aerial is worth having.

The programme guide looks old fashioned but functions and you can't sort the favourite channels.

BUT it works well - the still grabber is a useful tool for the graphics market - the quality is quite good - fine for a logo to trace, for example. Or a bit of a photo to use.

For me the key pluses were portability - because of its size and because you can move it around to different pcs - whereas the pc card products need a special slot on a desktop pc. You just need USB2.

Stick it on your Christmas list.
