Default Import/Create a Brush Stroke in the line Gallery?

    Hi Everybody,

Quick question: Can someone point me to a tutorial on "How to add a custom graphic" to the Line Gallery? Is
such a thing possible, couldn't find any mention of that in the forum or the PDF user manual.
    Many Thanks,

It might be possible. But it is beyond me how. Acorn, who knows everything, might have a way to do this.

Custom brushes reside in the Xara document if the brush is applied to something. So my solution would be create a document with the custom brush strokes you want to use and save it where you can find it. For example, save your file as Custom Brush Strokes.XAR

if you mean a custom stroke shape then no you cannot

but you can make an art brush of the shape - make sure it is simply a pure black vector shape to ensure it stays a pure vector as a brush

The cleanest way is to create a XAR file of your created Brushes and add that file to C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Web Designer Premium\<version>\Templates\ENG\Brushes\ or similar. In XDPX, it may be C:\Users\xpa\AppData\Local\Xara\XtremeProSub\Sub\T emplates\ENG\Brushes\.

You can simply just open the same XAR file at the same time as your design file and then look in the Document brushes folder in the Line gallery and it will be there.
It will also be visible in the Freehand & Brushes tool > Select an existing brush dropdown.

You could just Copy & Paste into your design off-page.

you were - at one point I had a couple of brushes embedded into my default file template [on a hidden layer] so that they would always be available - in those days too many brushes in the xara program folder would slow things down as they all loaded into memory at the same time; I believe that may no longer be the case with pro+
