The first thing to do Bob is to add the product you are using to your Profile so we know with which product you need help.
And the second is to post this question in the appropriate user forum.
If Xara have sent you a new update code then I would try Help > Register Online and see if that works.
If not, please let us know.

Sorry Gary, It's been a bad day!
Des Pro X365, Bought the update whilst at the office and not through the application.
Picked up the email at home but no indication of how to update the program
Register online is grayed out.
Do I have to de-activate the program and then on re-activation will it ask for a serial?
I've been reluctant to try this as deactivation restores out-of-box settings so I'm not sure what I may lose
I went for it!
It won't register at all now due to an error 14 - Invalid serial
Seems you renewed with a discount price.
You need to uninstall current version,install the trial from xara.com and now you can enter your new code.
God, what a rigmarole. It seems the company want to make it as difficult as possible to renew the product.

Yes, this is the wrong forum for this issue but as it's here now, I chime in because I have the same questions. I just renewed my Update Service by upgrading (ouch, 119 euros!) and I get an email with a new serial number for XDP X365 but nothing about the update service for my current installation of XDP X365. And I still get the message that my Update Service will expire. All in all, quite a miserable experience.
As I wrote above, I have asked Xara to respond. I would expect an explanation tomorrow.
