Re: corel painter won't start
Sorry I can't help el grincho, but I did find something online that sounds like the same exact problem, with people there offering advice:

The last person there said:
I would open Disk Utility and again repair permissions, since it already helped before. You can also try this:
1. Shut down the MacBook Pro.
2. Insert the System Disk you got with the laptop.
3. Now turn the computer on and right after that, hold down the "c" key.
4. After a while the Installer will appear, as if you got the computer for the first time.
5. Go to the Installer Menu, and click "Open Disk Utilty" or similar-
6. Once Disk Utility is opened, there are two options in the left hand list. One is Macintosh HD and the other one says something like: FUJITSU 476472
7. Click on that one, not Macintosh HD.
8. Then click Repair Disk.
9. Then shutdown and restart.
10. Check to see if the programs now work.
