I have no problem drawing the shape of an egg, but I can't get the right shading to make it look realistic. My eggs all seem to be too flat. I've played around with fills (elliptical and circular), but I can't get it right, and I need help.

Not an egg shape as its an ellipse but the principal is the same.
Draw shape and apply eggy colour
Clone shape on top, colour black and apply elliptical transparency centered at bottom, adjust percentage to look correct
Duplicate again and move elliptical transparency to one side and stretch up, again adjust to overlap and blend together.
Select the bottom (egg coloured object) and apply mehdi natural grain (basic) and adjust until it looks as you want it.
Add further highlights etc dependant on you requirements etc.
Stand it in an egg cup or put a shadow under it.

Bill, thanks. That is exactly what I needed.
And, Masque, your reply is helpful too.

"Intbel" ... "Can't" is not an option.
Compliance is futile. Resistance is futile. Just do your own thing an' ignore 'em.
