A year ago I designed this Bugatti with modern add-ons and parts, that means slick like they have in California, nice chrome pipes etc. Basic shapes with XARA, Ashlar DrawingBoard, Rhino, assembled and raytraced in Cinema 4D XL. BTW, the tire treads are not painted or a texture, they are really 'cut' and applied to the tire...tricky task.

    Enjoy!

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.

Wow Jay... you actually cut those tires to spec huh?! That IS a lot of work. Great job.

I'm guessing you did the tires in Rhino, correct? I know that's the only place *i* would've tried that! hehee

What part of the 'basic shapes' did you use Xara for exactly Jay?

    Mark,

Yup. It's not too bad, since you can wrap anything around a shape in Cinema 4D XL...

I developed the wheels in Rhino, the tires in Cinema, the tread in XARA (!), extruded and wrapped them in Cinema.

If you don't have XARA and Cinema, that'll be your only choice :-)

Simple: the cross sections of the body (I hope this is the correct expression). That means the vertical shapes of the body (as if you cut the body into slices from top to bottom). And of course the ratios - length, width, wheel size, screen size, mufflers etc. Then I exported them, scaled everthing in Ashlar, exported them and did the rest in Cinema. See picture below...

I see, perfect way to do that. Thanks.

And yes, i do have both Xara & C4D. So, i guess maybe i wouldn't just limit myself to Rhino huh?
