Nodes obscure drawing

Hi. I am quite exited about Xara but when I try and draw without smoothing my stroke too many nodes pop up to be able to see what I want to draw clearly.

It has put me of using the program.
Is there any way to turn nodes off or stop them obscuring the stroke. I know you can leave smoothing at 50% and it looks fine but I want to be able to draw with a more natural stroke.

Abe,

There are two ways to get around this. Decrease the size of the nodes. (either Dimtries or John's app does this easily) or deselect the line when you are done (hit the "esc" key when you are finish with a line)

ABE: use zoom... (CTRL + [+] CTRL + [-] or CTRL plus mouse scrollbutton) , or from the drop down menu.. either way.. use zoom to edit more precisely.. there arent's so many nodes that there couldn't be more.
