Ok, this is it eh, I mean I have seen some very cool worx done with PI, and so I just know that somebody here may be up to the task... which is... create this effect with PI... I mean I really like the looks of what Mark has achieved using Xara for this most awsome fx, and so... can this be done in PI? Doesn't matter the number of steps to replicate such, though the lesser the better of course, but... non the less, can it be done?

Looking forward to this folks... bring the whole PI community in on this one, from any PI board... just really want to know if any of you PI user's can replicate this and make it look so durn good...

    till then http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I gave it a try... the result is far from perfect, but here it is :

    http://www.essentiel.net/demo/foreignimg/glass.png

Mainly, i used the deformed text :
    - one for the top (with gradient fill)
    - same for the bottom
    - twice with a vertical motion blur

Combining all these pieces with different blending modes and opacity, i came to this image.

    I hope that will help...

You can also use the outline of the text motion-blured then merged with the other objects... here it is substracted with 50% transparency.

It seems to be so simple - but I didn't manage to make the same. I suppose we'll find a tutorial at somebody's site.

    Rating best!

It's not difficult, but it involves some precise steps... and i'm not sure this is the best way to do this "effect".

I tried to do a mini tutorial for you, hoping it'll be helpfull. Some basic operation are not detailed, as i have very few word to explain all these things in english. Maybe Stephanie or someone else could start from this tutorial to write a realy helpfull one.
