I haven't had much time to play with VUE yet but here's a quick, as the crow flies , little dabble using the ecosystem population on a tiny bit of terrain. I need some rattlesnakes now....

Yeah Stu and i have been ooing and awing over this new version of Vue, Maya. This new ecosystem ability looks extremely cool. I've seen all the demo movies. I'm very eager to try the demo; which hasn't been released yet.
Nice pic.
ya I do like that eco system, but the GUI well,I suppose I might be able to live with it
Hey Mark and Stu - hi guys!
Well, this was just a rather lo res quick (less than 4 minutes) and very simple render right out of the can. No postwork. It imports objects with their texturing wonderfully (VUE4 wouldn't do this with Poser objects, you had to work around that) but aside from any dislikes of the GUI (Stu... ) you ought to really consider it. I am also looking forward to what the newest version of Terragen will be like because I think for certain types of scenes (more distant vistas) it will have much to add too....but when it comes to, at present, making close in terrains for other things added to it VUE is especially fun. I've got a global illuminated dragon scene (2 beasties about to clash) rendering right now and will post sometime today. It uses also some ecosystem mode but in a different way and created interesting rock formations out of a pine tree form... . I love the way VUE lights things too -- everything looks better rendered in it for scenes than the current Poser5. I should have Poser6 SpEd in a day or so though, and that one has greatly improved lighting capabilities too. IT WILL BE FUN!
Thanks for the comments guys!

Very cool Maya, I was reading some of the teasers about the ecosystem. Sounds like it may be pretty handy. I see a lot of other goodies in there I would like to have as well, I can upgrade for 199.00, Well, I'm gonna have to think about it for a while. I'm waiting on Poser 6 to arrive too. I,m wondering if it is going to be compatible with Vue 5.
Thanks Mike! I gotta better pic to post here in a few moments (2 Mil dragon 2.0's about to engage and it's rendered in VUE5 Infinite using just the med. res. "final" render option so it rendered in just 6 minutes!) as I'm such a newbie with these aps I can't answer how compatible Poser6 will be with VUE5. VUE4 files are converted in VUE 5 for use because of the different render engine for example. I'm keeping Poser5 on my machine and VUE4 too until I figure out what works with what. Then there's the new Poser6 figures -- wow!
