Amongst 3D salt and pepper shakers, stunning son's of salt and pepper shakers, stair cases that make the colour white look so beautiful that you want to cry and Zippo lighters so cool that you have to start smoking (again) - I'm posting this...

It was done this afternoon while the kids had their nap... no 3D tools..., just 12 impovised shapes with the shape tool and Xara X's great transparencies...

Ross - I have been very busy at work the last 2 weeks but I have been checking back on the Kipper thread - on and off - so what do we do?

Beautiful 3d shapes happening there Risto!

Thanks for the reminder about the Kippers. I will obtain some today (legally of course) and post them on Monday AM. (That will avoid them being in the mail any longer than necessary - That will keep the posties from stealing them).

    Regards, Ross

Agent Risto. Distroy your computer after reading this message.

The salty smoked herrings (aka. Digby Chicks) are chilling out in the safe house (codename: refrigerator). On Monday they will be bundled up for their protection and delivered to the pickup point. Agent Postie will wisk them to Montreal and deliver the package to your door. Do not let anyone see you make your pickup. If you accidentally have contact with Agent Postie - say the code words: "I'm a silly Swede" and stick your elbows in the air. Agent Postie will reply: "I can see that" and leave the contact point very quickly. If "Agent Postie" does not reply as expected you are instructed to terminate the imposter with a swift Swedish head butt (similar to a Glasgow kiss but featuring Viking technique).

Upon getting the package to a safe location, procede to carefully unwrap it. Prepare yourself mentally for an assult on your senses. The product is very fishy, very salty, and very smoked. They are rich in Omega3 fatty acids. They can be eaten in their entirety (chewed really) straight from the bag (that's what I do) or gently toasted in a hot oven. The hot oven method is both delicious and disturbing. It is disturbing in that your home will fill with the aroma of the fish. It will take several weeks for the smell to dissapate. Perhaps for fun you could heat up a few at work and treat the office to a wiff of Nova Scotia.

    Regards, Ross

PS - Warn the wife and kids not to open the package when it arrives! Without forewarning the experience could be very shocking to them. Also be forewarned you are unlikely to get any loving for several hours after consuming a kipper due to its effects on your breath.

Paul - This kipper thing all started because Risto is a Swede transplanted to Canada and so is deprived of the rotting fish those Swedes say they enjoy. I thought he might enjoy a traditional Digby Kipper which is particular to the area around Digby, Nova Scotia. I suspect you Scandinavians have something similar. Perhaps Risto will report back on how good the kippers are. If he thinks they could be popular in Scandinavia maybe there is import/export business just waiting to happen. $$$$$$$$$$$

Paul! - You, stay away from my Kippers!!!!!

Well, now you really have me going, Ross! I can hardly wait for the smelly fish to arrive but my wife says that she won't be opening the door to the mailman. This means that I will have to use some vacation days on the Kippers (I know they will be worth it).

I will follow your instructions exactly!

Now, I just have to figure out how to get a can of "sour herring" through the Canadian customs and off to NS...

Perhaps, you would prefer one of the condiments to the sour herring, instead? It is a strong liquid that when over-consumed makes you see trolls and gnomes...

I'll try to have one of my colleagues bring some back from Sweden.

    Thanks Ross, you're great!

Risto can probably tell me more about the "rotten" herring (in swedish), and what it comes most close to: Kryddfisk or surströmming? Well, anyway, as long as you can ignore the "smell" (if you can), it is quite tasty.
