    I am looking for advice on scanning negatives and slides, ie resilution and are they better than the actual photo, I am of course talking 35mm film,any help would be appreciated.

    Personally, I think it depends on the quality of the original photos (in either form) plus your scanning ability. You can have a fantastic photo but if your scanning skills suck - sucky end result. You can rescue a so-so photo with a skilled scan.

    This of course doesn't help your dilemma. My general rule of thumb, keep with the original as long as possible.
