Many times when I import jpegs images into Flash they look blurry and unclear. Is there a way to do it to prevent that? Also, should I be using a different format than a jpeg?
    Thanks

Refer to the posting by "Andy" titled "Newbie Alert" that was posted on November 18, 2001. The answers given will help you understand what is happening.

I appreciate your help but, I believe the problem is in Photoshop before I bring the images into Flash. I have some large images like 800x600 that I have used and made them a size like 50x50 and then imported them into Flash. And from that point they are quite blurry and distorted. So I don't believe it has anything to do with screen resolution. What do you think?
    Thanks

That could be an issue as well. Do the images look fine inside your .fla when you are viewing them there? Another thing in Flash that could be causing this is in your publish settings/Flash/Compression. You can try switching it to 100% if you haven't tried that already.

Actually I haven't even published the movie yet. I am just looking at it through "test movie", would that matter? Also this may sound stupid but, i am starting a new movie. I made a movie clip of some text fading in and out. So I drag it from the library to the 3rd keyframe in the main timeline. I do this to leave the first 2 keyframes blank to put in the preloader later. But when I test it, it doesn't play unless I move it to the first keyframe. Why? Does does a keyframe have to be in the first 2 frames for a movie to play? This is really bothering me. What do you do for the preloader? You would have to have it in to frames that are free of anything else, wouldn't you?
    Thanks, Anthony

The "Test Movie" option always displays at 100%. The very best way to test the movie is to publish it, and open the .swf all by itself.

As for your other question, the movie clip should work regardless of what frame it's in. I usually allow a few frames even before the preloader and then a couple of frames after the preloader before anything else starts. This is probably stupid to ask you, but do you by any chance have a "go to and play frame 1" action in the second frame? You mentioned that you were saving these frames for a preloader so I want to be sure it's not something as simple as that. If that is the case, take the "go to and play" out and try it. If not, email the .fla to me and I will have a look.

    Thanks,
