I just discovered S-Spline, a special program for high-quality enlarging of bitmaps. As this sample show, it looks very promising! It costs $69, and a save-disabled demo - only 1.5Mb - can be had from:

Give it a spin and find out! My tests prove that this program is really splendid, and will save my ass now and then - I'm bying it.

I bought S-Spline for a particular task and I'm not sorry about it. Although I had tried XaraX, I had forgotten the trick and I went for this.In fact, the trick was to save in "xar" format and then enlarge which worked - what is it Homer says?

neat! I opened an image I had made at 750 x 550 pixels and therefore unsuitable for print and increased it to 10" tall at 300 dpi and it made it a smooth looking image. Pretty cool little program.

I should clarify ... compaired to just increasing the image size in a bitmap program, these images seem to be somewhat better in quality and some areas aren't blurred as much

I'll certainly give it a try.

Suppose it's something like Genuine Fractals...?

I've tried Genuine Fractals, but not been very impressed with it. It seems to me that S-Spline enlarges better, with sharper edges - and is MUCH cheaper!

I fully agree with you Klaus. I wasn't that impressed by GF either, but if you say that this is much better, I'll try it out. (I don't like to install/uninstall too often as i'm still on only one machine.)
