...Sam Eliott, that is. (Some spell it with 2 'l's').

I was watching some old movies (AMC). This guy has a voice, low-pitched...with a western drawl that puts him apart. Then he drops his head and stares...

I did it from memory..as it was a movie. And what I tried to do is make a collage type thing. I used all kinds of fills from Xara...and applied it to everypart of figure: leather on his noce and face; a stone texture for mustache; wood grain for hat; crumple gray paper for shadow under hat etc. I even
usd a bit of marble in his eye. Then I just added some black, grey and white lines.

...just foolin' round

Have a good one, all...

Love the style. It kinda reminds me of airbrush paintings, maybe just because of the marker-style lines used by a lot of the characature artist that you used in here. Old sam looks really good!

One thing that should be added though is making "sam" in the same bevel as "Eliot" is in

He was in "Mask" (1985) with Cher too and one other movie that he was looking really good in but died pretty soon. "Sibling Rivalry" (1990) with Chirsty Alley. I love that movie, hmmmm, I think I will watch that tonight, it was a kick

William this is a great rendition of Sam and it's as rugged looking as the man himself

Here is Sam Eliott's filmography if anyone's interested

Great work there William

nice expressive portrait ... especially like how that eye is peering out at the viewer

Also I like the small drops around the edges like it was made in a frenzy
