but I think the gold one might look better (smoother) if you set the bitmap (fill?) to be repeat inverted.

Yep Xara gel can be addictive, perhaps they ought to put a warning to that effect on their new box :-)

OK I am obsessing but this turned out really neat. Unfortunately, I've piled so many layers one a top the other, that I do not remember how I did it.
