Seriously, I think you need to sit down with the Xara videos and manual for a time.
Your Replies are not adding to our understanding of your problem.

The application has a page area and a background and each page can have a number of layers.
For all we know you may be adding a button to a layer that is under you pictures and so will not show.

You need to explain what and where you are doing or provide your failing design file.

if you mean make a new picture, then select both the picture and the button and then on the arrange menu click 'create bitmap copy' and then click 'create' button

there are some options you may need to change for this to look right, but is this what you want ?

@ab1952, click Reply to this Post then press the Go Advanced button.
In the expanded toolbar, you will find a paperclip symbol for attachments.

Maybe using Blocks? If so, you need to remove the button from the Block, release the mouse, then drag the button over the image and press and hold the ALT key when you release the mouse.

This stops the object (button in this case) from automatically snapping to a grid.
