    Default Software not found

After being bombarded by Bill Gates to upgrade to W11 telling me otherwise I'd have to buy a new PC from him, I finally gave in and installed 11
Needless to say it really screwed up my PC which after a week of trying to sort was almost unusable even in safe mode so yesterday I bit the bullet and did a fresh install and am still in the process of re-installing programmes, emails and shortcuts.

Most programmes are working including Web Designer Pro but I did a 'check for updates...' which says there's an update but when I run I get an error saying it can't locate the programme even though it seems to be installed in the correct location?
Any ideas on how to solve?

not sure about your web designer issue, someone should know, or you could contact xara direct

@windows 11 - I had real issues with this until I checked the computer BIOS which was several years out of date, and once updated, windows 11 was OK - memory and PCIe handling were at fault...

Thanks, I'll check the bios although most programmes now work. I have about 60+ databases written in Lotus Approach which they ceased support in 1999 but I can programme in it so I'm expecting a few issues now. :-(

In Windows 11 next to the start icon there's a Search box. Type in Xara and it should come up with Xara Designer Pro. If you right click it you can open the location. Give it a try, it might be in the wrong place.

    Mine is in:
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Xara
    Egg

Exactly the same Egg although that is a shortcut to:
    "C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Web Designer+\WebDesigner.exe"

I've not seen that error before, and only use Xara Designer Pro+, not Web Designer+, but the error is from an update which says it can't see the original program

I suggest downloading (from https://workspaces.xara.com/ and then clicking on Downloads at the bottom left, or from https://www.xara.com/web-designer-download/) and installing the program again - to put back whatever is missing after your upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

Same error, surprised I hadn't tried that even though I am Admin :-(

You're a star Daniel! That seems to have done the trick.
    Thank You
