Default Setting a background to transparent

I had a question in terminology. Setting a background with “no color” means transparent correct.

    https://helpandsupport.xara.com/xara...t%20background

A graphic page, or web page with a no color background is then transparent. I’m working on a couple of elements that require a png or transparent background.

    Thanks

    Bill, it's trickier than that.

If you open the default web 1280px template, as Xara says the Page Background Rectangle is (No colour, No colour) for Fill and Line.
The Pasteboard background is (White, No colour). If you set this to (No colour, No colour), the design page changes to a grey (RGB #383c40).
If you then Preview, the Pasteboard appears as White.

If you then delete both Rectangles, the Page background and Preview switch to White.

Keep the Page background rectangle and set to (No colour, No colour) or make it a Flat 100% Transparency and the Preview still stays White.

If you delete either Layer, you still end up with White.

Ah, got it now. I can plop my image on a transparent page background rectangle and export from there. I had not thought of it that way. (The page being a rectangle in itself).
    Thanks Acorn.

Bill, why are you not using the Photo template? That is its main purpose.

Thanks Acorn. Photo page is the way to go. The logo is basically black and got a little hard to edit etc.

Bill, you could always add a white rectangle behind or on a lower layer and toggle to Hidden before exporting.
Of course PNGs don't include any background when selected for export either.
