nice way to produce a chrome or gold effect on type faces:
01. create a rectangle
02. create a sine curve, slightly larger than the rectangle
03. center the rectangle and curve
04. clone both
05. slice one rectangle with the curve
06. apply a gradient fill in the lower part
07. apply another gradient fill in the upper part
08. make bitmap copy (high resolution!!!!)
09. type your word
10. drop bitmap onto the word
11. adjust fill size, eventually stretch
12. apply bevel - very thin one with high contrast
13. apply shadow
if you select the appropriate colors, you can achieve either a warm, rich gold or a cool, sharp blue chrome effect - see below
