Xara Web Designer Update 24.4.0.70344: Errors

Your video showed different spellings for 'Website' and seemed to have more options than the EN version that I use.

It could be a DE issue or a bad install.

There is Xara link in my Signature.
Open Xara Cloud and click Help to use the Intercom Chat.

@Pixel Punk—Please see this article. It highlights what Acorn said. Make sure the document is set to Website. Installing an older version will not help. Many releases ago, a change was made to clearly distinguish between a website and a web presentation (formerly microsites).

@Acorn, thank you for your answer. It may be that only the German version is actually affected. The more options appeared after the update, they did not exist before (2x website). The first thing I did was to reinstall everything cleanly. But that didn't help.

@MB365 my settings were set to web document. That's not the problem. It is the export option, which cannot be changed from scroll to website.



I have already contacted Xara Support. Let's wait and see what they answer?

The best solution is to install 24.4 directly.

Is there possibly a way to get the previous version 24.2.0 in German? I can't find a download for the previous versions. I would install it and do without the update until it is fixed.

Xara's logic is by ensuring that there is only one version around then it's support is simpler.
The old versions are stored on your machine but are not really recoverable.

Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, I was also affected by the 24.4 update.
However, as I found out by chance in a dialog with the Xara support team, it is due to the German language package of version 24.4 and it is not a user or settings error. It is clearly an update error.
Quote from Matt (Xara) 2024-10-14:”We've confirmed the issue is with the German version. A fix will be out later today, in the meantime, continue with the app in English."

Hi all,

Hi, Plus 24.4.1 has been released. It has a fix for export/publishing for non-English versions. After updating, verify that Web Properties > Export > Transition is set to Website. Apply. Exporting and Publishing should work as expected again.
