Xara Web Designer Update 24.4.0.70344: Errors

Hello everyone,

Today, I updated Xara Web Designer+ and unfortunately realized that something wasn't quite right. I made a few small changes (like text updates) on a website and then uploaded it. However, I noticed that the normal indexing no longer works. The address is usually displayed like this, for example:

https://stiftung-heydenmuehle.de/index.htm

Now, after the upload, it appears as:

https://stiftung-heydenmuehle.de/#xl_xr_page_index

This issue applies to all other subpages, which are displayed like this:

https://stiftung-heydenmuehle.de/#xl...r_die_stiftung

https://stiftung-heydenmuehle.de/#xl_xr_page_archiv

etc.

I checked the HTML files via FileZilla and found that no .htm files were uploaded—only a single index.htm

I emptied the FTP server and re-uploaded the site, but there was no change. I can only export the single index.htm, so the pages are not indexed correctly.

Why is the update to blame? I uploaded another website about 2 hours before, and everything was fine. Then, I uploaded the same site (the one before the update) to see if it was an issue with the saved file, but the behavior was exactly the same. The indexing mirrored that of the site mentioned above. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to Talkgraphics. It is nothing to do with the update.
At some point you changed the website style to a transitional type, away from a conventional website.

Reset in Web Properties > Export.

It is highly unlikely that it was changed by the update; mine have been unaffected.
As ever, I could be wrong.

Yes, that would be the solution, but it can't be changed. If I switch from scroll to webstie and confirm, it jumps back to scroll when you open the export settings again...no change in upload either.

Whenever I install an upgrade, I reboot and Run as administator.

Also check that you have not set the design as a Presentation.

Speak with Xara directly as it will definitely help with your problem.

Isn't the latest version of Web Designer+ supposed to be 24.2.1.61884 not 24.4.0.70344

mine doesn't update newer than 24.2 maybe mine isn't updating

Rollout started 10 Oct, so this indicates then can be a delay.

Perhaps keep pressing Help > Check for updates.

There has also been a v24.3 out prior.

So my version is this one (German version)



But I found an old version 23.8.0 from April (unfortunately only in English) and installed it. Everything runs as it should. For me this is a proof that the version 24.4.0 from 10 October is faulty (you can see it in my video above). Does anyone have an idea where I can report this to the technical support?

Your video showed different spellings for 'Website' and seemed to have more options than the EN version that I use.

It could be a DE issue or a bad install.

The best solution is to install 24.4 directly.

Uninstall 24.2
Reboot your device
Install 24.4
