Default New Website for a Roofing company

    Hi guys

This is my second website after my short retirement. This one is completely my own; the client simply let me take charge of the look and pretty much everything on it. Please take a look. I need encouragement to continue creating websites.

    thanks.

    Thank you for sharing.
Which site builder are you using?

If not too much trouble, how did its construction fare against your Xara work?

It's good to be back. That has been created in Wordpress, using the elementor builder. It's the closest thing to using Xara web builder, it allows pretty much wysiwyg building as it's drag and drop and even has absolute positioning for elements. Creating a website is ultra quick, BUT, I miss the days of using a static builder because the finished website is so fast to load, you can still get fast websites within Wordpress but the builder adds bloat and getting sub 1 second times requires a fast server and a lot of optimisation.

Cheers Cloud. Thank you for your insights. I mostly avoid WP as I find keeping it current is time consuming and you have no guarantees that the widget owners are on top of security.

That is true sometimes. I mostly use a small stack of plugins, I use Elementor Pro, which covers 99% of what I need. The other plugins are a security plugin and an SEO plugin. and all 3 are reliable ones. All optimisation is done through the hosting company; caching etc.

He needs to park it there again with the new logo and wait for Google to come around.

Agreed. The incessant updates and large number of files creates a maintenance complexity that does not translate into improved sales. IMHO

Good website, clear and simple to navigate.

@hd I've just been skegging at what you skegged at!

    Word of the day...
Skeg: noun, mainly northern England: a look or glance.

Being a southern softy that's a new one to me
