Buttons are broken in Light UI mode: Is this a bug?

Hello Talk Graphics folks: I am very new to the forum. But I've visited this site and learned from you for several months now - since I switched to (really, expanded my tool set to include) Xara from Affinity suite. Affinity designer can't do a lot of things for me yet. Anyway, I have a slight visual impairment that makes it very hard to work in dark mode. I searched this forum and found out how to switch to Light UI. But I noticed a problem right away. The layers panel and the stroke panel appear broken. The buttons are just a black box. Likewise, the layers panel appears broken. Every alternative layer and page is blacked out - meaning, I can't find what's where. And clicking on one layer or page renders the other layers and page dark.

On the same note, is it possible somehow to increase the size of the control points on the Bezier curves as in Inkscape? Once again, real challenge working in small sizes.

Could some one please help me with these? I've emailed Matt, too. But I thought I'd give it a go here. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!

the keystroke switch to light UI does not work with the latest version[s] of the program

EDIT - and as it was never 'official' that is unlikely to change

from memory you should be able to increase the handle [control point] sizes using the XaReg utility program [sorry I don't have time to check]

VR, welcome to TalkGraphics.

ToggleSkin, Shift+Ctrl+Alt+S, still works but it ought to be disabled as Xara does not support the Light UI.
It also reset any pinned Galleries.
The Button Palette requires you to mouse over every icon to see them.
You will get no satisfaction in trying to use it.

I'm glad you have raised it with Xara as it does need a remedy.

This is really upsetting - because I very much enjoy the speed and usability of Xara, but struggle to work in the dark UI. I've tried to increase contrast on screen, but it does not work the same. Even Affinity/Adobe/Inkscape/VectorStyler offer light UI - I am being presumptive here, but I don't think requires a major rewrite of the code to support this. It's more like a skin - isn't it? I really hope Matt takes cognisance of this small but important oversight and fixes it. I don't know how responsive Xara is to requests such as this. But it's a low hanging fruit.

it will depend on how many users ask for the change; matt has made it clear: that is the deciding factor for issues such as these that do not affect functionality, but are essentially workflow issues...
