Default Photo Widget for a client

We have been able to add small galleries for a client of mine to show off their golfcarts. It has been working good up until a few days go.
We use the photo widget. I have this feeling, we have way to many photos and it has finally said enough.

    This is the website. www.custom-golfcarts.com

One widget that is not loading on the club car that I just added works fine on a page that i tested with just one little widget gallery. Plus most of the little galleries are not allowing to go forward to look at the other images.

    Thanks for your input.

As far as I can see, the carts that are not working are not linking when you mouse of the > arrows.

I have not used these widgets so I don't know what that indicates.

But look at one of the ones that is working and then one that is not working and see if the settings hold the clue.

Debbie, if it helps, in https://www.custom-golfcarts.com/clu...golf-carts.htm, all the widgets have been grouped with their prices so you've turned them into static images.

In any case you are expecting far too much in loading in so many images into a page as the download is horrendously slow.

You could use something like https://nanogallery2.nanostudio.org and add tags for filtering. Nanogallery2 handles lazy loading.
You could include you own lazy loading solution. Examples in TG.
Possibly better, build a shop with ECWID, really powerful and allows the client to change pricing and stock easily.

Also you appear to have grouped all the objects within the buggy set such that the next arrow is not a link to the next image, it's just part of a single group which exports as a single png.

I agree with Acorn's post above but it's also worth considering it's fairly easy to create your own slideshows and loading them into your main pages using placeholders.

In the link below the left-side slideshow is created using a website transition. The right-side slideshow uses a slip / vertical transition. Any other transition loads all the images across 9 pages on loading the first image but I've avoided this using lazy loading, so the images are only loaded if the viewer clicks the next button.

These pages load fast as they are only loading an image if it's required. The PageSpeed Insights scores the mobile version as a 91% performance, the desktop version as 100% performance. Although the images look identical they are completely separate. Of course the remainder of the screen is created using a screen-grab so in reality the mobile version would load faster if it where text etc.

Image quality is fairly low as they are only enlarged screen-grabs of your slideshows. With the originals it would be far better.

@Egg, I copied your Post in from https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...519#post661519 but have kept that one in the Lazy Loading Thread as it is relevant there too.
