Xara 3D 7 and Windows 11

I've just tried d/l'ing Xara 3D7 onto my new Windows 11 PC and it just doesn't install. Is this the case does anybody know?

Does not surprise me. It's just another orphaned app.

if win 11 still has such, I take it you tried compatibility mode?

as i recall 3D 6 needs XP comptibility to run on win 10 ....

I've seen a similar issue before. Do you see any error messages before it crashes, or does it just close without any prompt? This is one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to switch to Windows 11.

I think in another thread Egg says he got it to install in compatibility mode as suggested there and here[win 7 mode]

I have no issue to install and run X3D v. 7

As HD states I managed to open Xara3D 7 in compatibility mode. It starts first time every time now without issue.

Updated Window Windows 11, version 24H2. Successfully installed on ‎04/‎12/‎2024

No longer able to get Xara £D Maker v7 to work even in compatibility mode- Bummer.

@Xara - it might be about time for you to incorporate the Xara 3D Maker v7 features into your Plus products.

@Egg - perhaps create a VM running W10 or earlier, just for X3Dv7?
