I stumbled into an interesting looking texture that's fairly simple to pull off and likely someone else's already been using this forever so I apologize if this is all kinds of 'duh', but...

If you take a gradient, then put another gradient as stretched plasma with a cloud transparency over top and you use the same 2 colors for all of it, it looks SUPER COOL! Like clouds or if white is one of the colors, it comes off looking like watercolor stains, etc.

Very neat, especially since you can drag either the fill or the transparency to get lovely randomness of the effect and for extra mood, you can adjust the background gradient's actual curvature.

I accidentally ran into it while trying to figure out what to do for a background on this future soldier dork I'm working on...As well, I'm building this image with intent on sort of maybe going into my process. I've been experimenting a lot with all of my goals being toward getting that 90s trapper keeper/computer game box vibe, which used a lot of airbrushing, perfect for vector and xara, i say...

Still messing about creating vector images from photographs atm. This is an old treadwheel crane on Harwich green. It used to be sighted on the old navy yard and was powered by two men walking in a hamster-like wheel inside the housing, no brake either:

Musical Gramophone I added a grayscale overlay and applied Hard Light transparency to add detail that is otherwise not possible with a hidden image stereogram.

Okay, just to see if there's anyone left on this forum ..... or is it now dead?

Just another drawing from me. I use Xara every day, now days just for fun but it always gives me a kick to create something.

I know there's a lot of you out there on the tinternet doing the same so please share and show us TG is still alive.

Cheers Egg, never give up on TG. It's too valuable a resource to lose or let fade away.

I am mid project at the moment and may have something to share in a while.

I hope Easter isn't too scary for you @Egg with all the hiding, rolling down hillsides and shell shock.

I'm sure egg is too hard-boiled to worry about all that....

I'm not drawing in xara at the moment; still using it for compositing stuff made in other programs, but that's not the same thing
