I've been fascinated by vector lately as a new form of 'throw back' looks, kind of going for that 'trapper keeper' airbrush look of the late 80s/early 90s, so when I'm 'off the clock' and playing around, I keep chasing the skill to pull it off...latest bit...

Some other stuff I've been doing is experimenting with 'ignore the vector game and go for strokes!' which means using some custom gradient brushes along with the feathering to get a different kind of spray look, but sorta like..respecting how a spray work would be constructed....just slower cause you gotta change settings for every stroke basically lol

I took a different approach to how I was originally going to do the 'funky bricks 3'. The original idea was to just keep the original shape there and draw on top of it, with that shading already there sort of dictating how to approach each 'brick'. Instead, I retraced my sketched bricks with shapes and decided to treat everything as individual bits. I think it's turned out pretty cool and it wasn't hard, just time consuming, like most graphics work!

Some excellent things being done with Xara at the moment.

Egg, you might recognise the pattern from your animated demo in the SVG rough paper thread. Just playing around with the idea. I like the way it has a stereogram feel to the illusion.

Agh, you just kicked me in the eyeballs! J/K...I'll have to check out that tutorial, sounds interesting if you're getting results like this based on something meant for imitating paper...?

No, I just overlayed this pattern over rough paper which Jono then used to create his drawing above. It has nothing to do with rough paper textures.

I learned a new term, Triquerta. It's a Celtic symbol. I created the depth image by applying Art Brushes to lines.

The second image Self-Serving is a not so subtle dig on some of the new stereogram artists who plaster their names all over their images. I don't think my satire had the least effect on them.

    not so subtle
Yes, definitely not too subtle Gary. The Triquerta looks great.
