    1st - how to write around a circle ?

    I have tried to redesign a logo on which there is text around the up half of a circle ;
    Does anyone know how to achieve it with xara x?
    As I am already dealing with this topic please explain to me how to write a text around the complete circle ;

    2nd - how to skew text in this / \ format

    In order to duplicate in Flash the famous star wars text effect it is necessary to skew text
    in a trapezoidal shape like this : / \ ;
    with tools available in flash it is not possible
    to skew in that way ;
    is it possible to do it with xara x ???

    Thank you in advance for any help given.

    Cheers

    Hi Mumkut,

    To answer your q's:

    Q1
    1. Right-click on the circle & choose 'convert to editable shapes' - unfortunately after this you can only edit it with the path tool.
    2. Type your text in.
    3. Select both the ex-circle & the text & look in the edit or arrange (can't remember which) menu for a put-text-on-path option (can't remember what it's actually called! sorry).

    Q2
    Use the mould tool! Type in the text, go to the mould tool and apply a straight-sided mould to the text, then move the mould-shape's corners to get your / \ effect.

    Xara FAQ as suggested helped me a bit but I´ve not been able to duplicate completely ; text has been fixed to the curve but I don´t manage to erase the line , both are clung together ;
    is there some away to break apart them???

    Once your happy with the text Arrange / Convert to editable shapes. Ungroup, select the line and delete it. Select the remaining text and group.

    If the line portion is not a necessity you can also set the line color to "none" and the line will not be seen.
