Plus Versions - Flexible Web Blocks

With Xara Plus 23.5.0.68069 SL x64 Nov 13 2023 release, we have a new feature that is worth exploring.

With the FlexGroup inside a Web Block, you can drag out any shape and the change occurs in Main or variant.
You can add any Shape as well.

You can create a FlexGroup but it is better if you can pare down any available and use the FlexGroup wrapper to build up your own.

A trick Xara has not yet mentioned is you can right-click to open the Web Block then resize the width of the FlexGroup, clone it and place side-by-side.
Save this and you have two independent FlexGroups inside a Web block.
You can even overlap them. Do check what your Variant changes to if you are doing all this.

You can also right-click and open into the FlexGroup, after opening the Web Block.

For whatever reason, you can detach a FlexGroup from a Web Block entirely. Select it in the Page & Layer gallery, right-click > Move to Current Layer.

Still haven’t tried placing a web block in an older free form design.
I did try once without success. Upon dragging in a block I received lots of messages. I think the key is turning off -push -
