Default Inputting a Character Map symbol

I've spent +- 30 mins trying to insert a Character Map symbol into a line of text! Everytime I start typing Alt+0174 (a "REGISTERED" symbol), it starts taking me to various Xara shortcuts! All I want is a LOGO® with a Registered sign after it. I tried copying and pasting from CM, but the R comes in at the same size as the LOGO text which doesn't work. If I reduce he point size of the R, it then it moves down relative to the top of the LOGO. I need a simple way to this this properly in multiple occurences throughout a website.
Please see attachment of what I want.
    Many thanks.

Info Re: Inputting a Character Map symbol

LGF, I assume you are in the Text Tool at the end of the word.

If you hold down Alt while using the Number Pad and type 0174, it works. NumLock has to be on.
If instead you insert a Symbol ®, you then need to Superscript it.

You can further change the ® size and change the Baseline height.

Having done this the once you can Copy (Ctrl+C) & Paste (Ctrl+V) or Paste Attributes (Shift+Ctrl+A).

HI Acorn - many thanks for the reply.
That's my problem - my laptop doesn't have a separate number pad...

LGF, then you have to read its manual and work out how to select its function key for accessing NumPad presses.

Windows also has the On-Screen Keyboard or Character Map to use.

I forget Xara has an Autocorrection feature so typing (r) produces ®.
Ctrl+Z undoes it in case you really want (r).
You still have to Superscript it.

Less helpful is setting up a SmartField entry.
